I finally caved and hired help: June Unstructured
a drugstore scalp serum, sandals from Spain, and a show that ruined my brain
I always think of these monthly columns as the conversation we’d have if you came over, sat at my kitchen island, and asked, “Okay what are you loving lately?”
This month is a mix of beauty products, a few fashion finds that were worth the wait, and some genuinely great recipes. Plus a little life update, what I’ve been watching (& you should avoid at all costs), and a few small wins from June that I’m really proud of.
I’m Actually, I’m quite proud of the progress I made in June. It wasn’t a perfect month, and I didn’t accomplish all of my work goals, but I started putting a semblance of a system in place. It makes me feel like we’re on the right track which is the track that I work part time and still be a SAHM to my littles (with no nanny)
If you want to show some love, tap the heart at the bottom of this post. It helps this newsletter get seen by other people who will hopefully love it too!
I’m on week three of using this exfoliating pads & I love them. This helps with evening out skin tone, brighting, and texture. It’s super easy to just swipe across your face nd it’s great for sensitive skin too.
When I first put this on, I was confused why does my skin look weirdly healthy today?? This one made my skin look like I drink enough water and get eight hours of sleep. The glow is subtle, the grip is good, and my makeup just looked better all day.
I’m terrible at buying new shoes, but I got these summer sandals and love that they are handmade in Spain. They were so cute & surprisingly comfy! You wrap via the back, so chic. I paired them with a black poplin skirt.
Last week, a friend asked me what concealer she should buy for dry skin and I sent this to her. It is a serum concealer that has hyaluronic acid and glycerin so it feels hydrating and lightweight and not heavy or cakey but covers the darkness under your eyes (??) sorcery!
We are a Hatch family through and through & both our kids’ room, our room (& even on the go) have a sound machine, we do the “rise to wake” alarm in our room which is so much nicer than being woken up to crying / yelling.
I found a swimwear brand it’s so pretty, relatively modest, and the pieces are only $30ish each!? Sizing ran on the small side, but I did get 1 set that I love!
This drugstore find is going to help with any oil buildup on my scalp. I just apply it to my scalp and roots, massage it in, and leave for at least 15 mins. (5-10 if im lazy!) This is my pre-wash hair serum for every hair wash reset. If you’re interested on my in-shower lineup, you can see it here.
It’s summer break & if your goal is to entertain your toddler at home, this sofa has become our daily ritual to make an obstacle course. Best investment ever. I *think* I have a code SABRINAMOLU
I have had this bag since January but only this month I actually took it out. It’s a luxury Australian brand, but this leather bag is quite affordable. I love that it has bag charms and straps so you can make it cross. I‘ve been using this often.
Sah got my a piece of jewelry that I’ve had my eye on for a bit! I love mixed metals on my arm stack. You can make a custom with engraving and I love that he put our kids initials on it for mothers day <3
What I’m Watching & Reading
Spent most of June watching the NBA finals against my will, but go Knicks bc 53 years is a very long time.
I’m going to be real with you, I barely picked up a book all month. I did binge watch two seasons of Perfect Match on Netflix and it’s terrible. Don’t watch it, you’ll lose brain cells. Apparently it’s TAME compared to Love Island and I am just not ready for all that.
Friendly reminder that a paid subscriber costs less than a latte once a month. If this weekly column brings you joy, I appreciate you supporting my work! We have new perks for subscribers starting this month!
What I’m Wearing
So for months, I’ve been wanting to get a nap dress in red but for some reason, when I’m ready to pull it out, they stopped making the red one. It was just released again last month & it’s my best purchase this summer! It also has mini version to match with your little
Boden has stores in Atlanta and they actually invited me for their summer collection. I got these green & white dresses from them and am loving it so far! Why are dresses the easiest thing to wear in the summer?!
What I’m Eating
I tried the no fold dumplings and then were SO GOOD. We added them to our weekly rotation. Here’s the recipe that we use!
I wish I could tell you I’m one of those people who takes their vitamins every day, but that would be a lie. I’m terrible at pills in general and somehow even worse at remembering my postnatals. The only reason I’ve been consistent lately is because Needed came out with a powder and I just froth it into some milk every morning and drink it while I’m getting ready. It tastes kind of like a vanilla milkshake. If you want to try it, my code is SABRINAM for 20% off. #neededpartner
I honestly feel so good about June. My goal was to put some processes in place and I think I did that! Here’s a few small wins from June:
Started my gym membership back up and figured out childcare to go 3-4x a week. I was so sore I could barely walk, but let’s take that as a win.
Vetted applications for a new video editor. This has been my biggest bottleneck in my workflow and I’ve been very hesitant about hiring someone for years, but I’m finally coming around to it and hoping this helps me work less hours.
For July, I’m hoping to practice time boxing my days where I can get all my work done in 15-20 hours a week and still be present as a mom the other times. I spent a lot of evenings working in June and that’s something I don’t want to make a habit out of.
K18 is the holy grail in my hair routine and if you’ve been following me for a long time, you know I always recommend their clarifying shampoo. I always use it after I oil my hair weekly and it gets the oil out and is awesome for product buildup. I ran out of my 14th bottle after years of use.
I’m such a sucker for a GOOD shower product. Something that elevates your time from chore to indulgence and this body wash is definitely it. Sah loved it too!
